This is Your Brain on Music:

Just finished ‘This is your brain on music’ by McGill neuroscientist Daniel Levitin, great read. Having studied lots of neuroscience at university, I highly recommended it:

‘…. the power of art is that it can connnect us to one another
and to larger truths about what it means to be alive and what it means to be human.

When Neil Young sings

Old man look at my life, I’m a lot like you were …
Live alone in a paradise that makes me think of two.

… we feel for the man who wrote the song.

I may not live in paradise, but I can empathize with a man who may have some material success but no one to share it with.’
